Learn how to download and start using the How to Be a Magician digital course. Step-by-step guide to accessing your hidden magic download and beginning your training.

Quick answer

Download and start using the How to Be a Magician course by accessing your purchase in the hidden category of your account, then follow the step-by-step video tutorials at your own pace.

Why the hidden category matters

The How to Be a Magician course is delivered as a digital download, which means you won't receive a physical box. Instead, it's stored in the hidden category of your account after purchase. This is a common setup for digital magic training to keep your download organized and accessible only to you.

If you're used to buying physical magic kits, this might feel different at first, but it actually gives you instant access and no shipping delays. The trade-off is that you need to know where to look in your account to find it.

What to expect from the course

The How to Be a Magician course includes video tutorials that take you from a complete beginner to performing confidently. The original Kickstarter campaign funded in one day, and the full kit version includes all the props you need—no separate purchases required.

Because this is a digital-only download, you can watch the tutorials on your computer, tablet, or phone. There's no expiration, so you can learn at your own speed and revisit lessons anytime.

Step-by-step download and setup guide

Step 1: Log in to your account: Go to the Making Magicians Since 2001 website and log in using the email and password you used during purchase. If you checked out as a guest, use the link sent to your email to create a password and access your order. Common mistake: Forgetting to check your spam folder for the login link. If you don't see it, search your inbox for 'Making Magicians'.
Step 2: Navigate to the hidden category: Once logged in, look for the 'Hidden' category in your account menu or the site's main navigation. This is where digital downloads like How to Be a Magician are stored. Click on it to see your purchased items. Checkpoint: If you don't see the hidden category, make sure you're logged into the correct account. Digital downloads are not visible on the public site.
Step 3: Download the course files: Inside the hidden category, find the How to Be a Magician entry. Click the download button to save the video tutorials and any accompanying PDFs to your device. Use a stable internet connection to avoid interruptions. Common mistake: Trying to stream directly from the site. Download first for reliable playback, especially if your connection is slow.
Step 4: Organize your files: Create a dedicated folder on your computer or tablet named 'How to Be a Magician' and move the downloaded files there. This keeps everything easy to find as you progress through the lessons. Checkpoint: Video files can be large. Ensure you have enough free storage space before downloading.
Step 5: Start with the first tutorial: Open the first video in the series. The course is designed to build skills sequentially, so begin at the beginning even if you have some experience. Pause and practice each move before moving on. Common mistake: Skipping ahead to advanced tricks. The foundation lessons teach handling and timing that make later effects work better.
Step 6: Practice with the included props: As you watch each lesson, use the props that came with the full kit to practice. The tutorials show exactly how to set up and perform each trick, so follow along with the physical items. Checkpoint: If any prop feels unfamiliar, rewatch the setup section of that lesson. Proper handling is key to smooth performance.
